Regalia

Over the years I have had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects for some amazing people. I have often used these opportunities to learn new skills while I make beautiful things for my friends.

These pieces were made for Elevations to Peerages, ceremonies denoting a new rank in the SCA. All of the techniques I’ve used to embroider these pieces are documentable to western Europe in the medieval to renaissance period.

A Rainbow Pelican

My first bit of Elevation regalia made for Sabine de Kerbriant in June of 2022.

The Battle of Little Birds

Silk Split Stitch and “Silver Work” silk Cloak

I made this fencing style cloak for Wentlyanna Bengrek. It was given at Riverwar 2022. Wentlyanna received her Pelican largely for her work with youth fencing. Hence, the fighting birds.

Queen Ann’s Lace

Applique in Wool with Stem Stitch and French Knots

Ysmay’s favorite flowers are Queen Anns Lace.
